To the GamersCast page on YouTube go to:

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Confirmed for Wii Launch!

After much question, about whether Metroid Prime 3: Corruption would be a Wii Launch title, it has finally been confirmed in the latest issue of Nintendo Power, during an article about Call of Duty 3. In the article it said, that Call of Duty 3 was one of three FPS games confirmed for the Wii Launch, including Call of Duty 3, Red Steel, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. We'll have discussion on this during the one-year anniversary episode of GamersCast (episode 16).

New Screenshots from GC

There are so many new screenshots coming in from GC we are making a slideshow to show them to you, in order to maintain the bandwith on this page. The slideshow will be released in two formats. One will be in Windows Media Player Video Format (.WMV) and other will be in MPEG-Layer 4 Video (.MP4), which will be placed onto the podcast feed. We will post a link to both versions of the slideshow, on this post once they are completed.

Episode 15 Recorded!

Episode 15: #@%#! isn't a bad word....

At long last, after weeks, episode 15 was recorded with me, and Corey Carson. Some discussions may have been brief, but there was so much to talk about, it took us straight through the hour. And now, that the 1 year anniversary of GamersCast is upon us, we are going to be having some special events that you wouldn't find from your typical episode. We are working on these special features right now. Because of our extensive bizzare renovation period, some of the news articles discussed will not appear on the site. Even this page will be updated once our renovation period ends, so you will have categorized news stories, but you'll see this and much more in the months to come!

GamersCast Website Under Construction!

Yes, at last! We finally are finishing up the website! We've been looking and looking for ways that the website would best run, and at last we found a way. I would especially like to thank Mr. Stephen Cask and COOLDOGS_1 from the Nintendo NSider Forums for helping as well. The new site should be up soon, and once it is, you will experience the following:

- Live Chat
- Local Forums
- More Organized Interface
- Quicker GamersCast Downloads
- More frequent GamersCast episodes and features
- New Help & Support Center
- GamersCast Army (you'll find out later....)
- Printable Versions of pages
- Only one logon needed for all GamersCast features
- Easier Site Naviagtion
- WebSite Map
- Less errors and broken links
- And so much More!

You should begin to see these features within the upcoming weeks. A copy of this message will also be posted on the main page for the time being. If you need anything at all, that has to do with our site during the renovation period please send an e-mail to: GamersCast@GamersCastPodCast.com

New Twilight Princess Control Scheme!

Just recently, Nintendo has announced that they are now incorporating a new control scheme into the final version of the game. Nintendo says, that upon playing it, it feels much more interesting..... I'm kind of freaked out on what they mean, by "interesting". But anyway, as for the controls, only a few basic movements have changed. The bow and the sword.

The Sword: At E3, to swing Link's sword, you simply press the B button, but now you swing the Wii-mote to have Link swing his sword. What worries me most about this is that at E3 Nintendo made a comment, saying they thought players would get too tired from swinging the Wii-mote like that, and now they just practically contridicted themselves.

The Bow: The bow's controls changed for one reason and one reason only, and that reason is becasue the sword's controls changed! Ironic, eh? Anyway, since B is no longer used to swing the sword, B is now used to shoot arrows. Nintendo says, it's easier to push B than the D-Pad, as was used at E3.

"I can't talk about it yet, but this Zelda has a lot to it," said Miyamoto. "What you played at E3 was just the tip of the nail."

There will be more discussion on this during episode 15 on GamersCast, but the only reason it wasn't recorded yet, is because the Camp Hyrule Closing Ceremonies were delayed, and then while they were going on, is when we were supposed to be recording, and once they ended everyone went to bed, and the next day a lot of them lost their voices, and it was just a whole big mess, but rest assured it will be recorded soon.

Matthew Goldzman featured in Newspaper!

In case you didn't already know, I am Matthew Goldzman, and back in June of 2006, I went to Dallas for a national technology competition, and I did pretty well. A few newspapers heard about my success and picked it up as an article, a few more are still expected to pick it up, but if they do I can just edit this post. In all of the interviews I did with these papers I kept urging them t mention GamersCast in the article, and I even hosted the video I did for the competition on the GamersCast website, but they just didn't want to do it for some reason, so there went my chance of getting some free publicity... Well, anyway if you wanna read more about my trip here's a link to the article, and I'll put up a PDF of the newspaper clipping(s) later onto the feed. So, anyway, to read more go to this URL:

http://www.howell.k12.nj.us/news_main.aspx?id=402

And here's a link to the video, but please read the article first, before looking at the video. The video is in Windows Media Format, but if you don't have nor want Windows Media Player just send me an e-mail at:
GamersCast@GamersCastPodCast.com But here's the URL of the video:

New Podcast in Pre-Production Stage!

By the title, you probably thinking, "Oh no.... Not Another!", but hear me out first. It's called "GamersCast: Video Game Hall of Fame", or something along those lines... This podcast will be run entirely (well, mostly) upon user participation and feedback. This is how it goes...
The podcast will feature records people made in video games, submitted by users (I might submit one or two, also), and all you have to do is send us proof of the record, either by a screenshot, or video, and we'll put it onto the feed. The record you submit can feature anything possible in any video game (for example, how quick you can beat a level, how fast you can beat a level, the heaviest fish you caught in Ocarina of Time, ANYTHING!) If you beat someone's record, we will "replace" the old record on the feed with your own. But, we like everyone to be feature to show off their skill on the podcast, so rather than "replacing" the beaten record, we will simply rename the episode to show it is now 2nd best, so even if you can't beat the record, you can submit your stuff anyway. Heck, anything you people send us, we will put up, even if it's just a cool glitch or trick you found. This podcast is run just about entirely upon user feedback. Since, it's going to be done in mostly video files, you should have iTunes version 6.0 or later to view it.

You can download iTunes at: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download

To submit your video or screenshot, simply send us an e-mail at GCvids@gmail.com or upload your file a video site such as YouTube and send me the URL of the video.

We accept the following picture formats: JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, TFF, JPG And the following video formats: AVI, MPG, MPEG, FLV, WMV, WMA, MOV, QT.
Please do not send Animated Picture Files, MP4 files, and RealPlayer Files, or any other unlisted format for it will make lesser chance to be put onto the podcast, though more file types may be supported in the future. If your format is not listed, you can try to send it anyway, but unsupported formats are not guartenteed to be featured, as supported formats are or you can send me an e-mail and I can tell you your other options.

All other questions about this new podcast can be sent to us by e-mail at: GCvids@gmail.com

GamersCast Episodes Released!

If you haven't already noticed over the past week I've been using every scrap of time to finish the editing of the past few GamersCast episodes and updating the video podcast feed. These invclude episode 12, 13, 14 (episode 14 is the emergency E3 episode), and the E3 2006 Wii vs. PS3 Line Comparison Video . So, now aside from a lot of pretty funny videos (I'm about to put up another compilation of priests farting there too!) I'm also going to start updating the tournament feed also. To see, all of my feeds just search "GamersCast" in the iTunes Music Store.

And by the way, when I say video podcast I meant "The Best Internet Videos" feed, just to let you know.

And one more thing, we're planning on doing more reviews in the future... and we have a new rubric made up to score the games, so we don't screw games by giving them a lesser rating than they deserve (listen to Mark's opinion in the NSMB review, I gave it too low of a rating, upon re-analysis, it won't happen again, promise!).

Halo Movie Director Announced!

The director of the long-anticipated Halo movie has been announced, and it is, none other than the famous... Neill Blomkamp!!

....You've never heard of him have you? Well, neither have we! :D But what I do know is he made a commercial once where a car transforms into a robot and starts dancing.... The car transforming into a robot part is pretty cool, but dancing is just.... Now, that I've said that, you probably have somewhat of an idea, as to what kind of sarcastic comments I'm going to make during the discussion of this topic in episode 15 of GamersCast. :p

More E3 Updates!

Ever since the initial reaction the we've found out the following:

  • We found out about their E3 plans before the ESA wanted us to
  • Nintendo was the only company to confirm their attendance at E3 2007
  • The conference will take place in two hotels, one being a Holiday Inn
  • E3 will be two trade shows: One for companies in LA, and one for consumers in a different city
Because the consumer trade-show is rumored to be held in Philadelphia or somewhere nearby, there is possibility that I may be able to attend.

E3 Cancelled?

The event constantly known as the largest video game event on the planet with one most attendees has been down-sized due to financial problems. Although, originally E3 was going to be cancelled, it has been confirmed that it will still take place on May 16-18, 2007. All of these changes were discussed in our recording of episode 13, which took place yesterday. However, so many new changes were announced only minutes after we finished recording, before I even had the chance to upload episode 12, it became essential to make an emergency breaking news podcast, which WILL NOT BE EDITED, in order to give you this shocking news as quickly as possible. This emergency podcast should be availible before today's end.
