Problems at Infinity Ward

If you have not been keeping up with the reports, there is a lot of scary happenings at the Infinity Ward offices. The developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has gotten "bouncer type" men standing outside their offices and were unable to find out the reason for it. The two heads of the company, Frank West and Vince Zampella went to Activision headquarters and were not heard from since.

G4 got the scoop from Activision of what is going on. They say "In an SEC filing made this morning, Activision cited a human resources investigation into 'breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward.' " Frank West confirmed what has happened on his Facebook profile putting in a status update "is drinking, also no longer employed." West was definitely fired and most likely Zampella was as well. Activision states "This matter is expected to involve the departure of key personnel and litigation, At present, the Company does not expect this matter to have a material impact on the Company."

I definitely agree with Activision. The quality of Infinity Ward's games will not change because of their two heads gone. They were smart and creative people and will be missed however they will continue making great content such as the first downloadable map pack for Modern Warfare 2 coming this Spring, first to Xbox 360 and later for all other platforms. They also are developing a new title which may not be another Call of Duty. Infinity Ward has always wanted to get away from the major franchise they created in order to make new games. If you would like to know more, please read the G4 article with a link posted below.

"This matter is expected to involve the departure of key personnel and litigation," read the filing. "At present, the Company does not expect this matter to have a material impact on the Company."
