New to GamersCast?
After looking at the podcast stats, I noticed a spike in the number of new listeners to the podcast, most likely due to our #25 ranking on iTunes (out of 2,300+ video game podcasts on iTunes). And so, if you are a new listener I would like to personally welcome you to GamersCast. And I whipped up a nice little audio file that I smacked on the podcast feed (dated as 9/29/2005) briefly giving an overview and idea of what GamersCast is. And so, if you wanted to give it a listen without scrolling down past 226 items on your podcast feed, here's a nice link for you guys:

New Animal Crossing: Town Folk Details
Many gamers are complaining that the only major announcement we got out of Nintendo that is directed at the hard-core crowd is Animal Crossing: City Folk. And others are arguing whether it should be considered a game for hard core gamers at all.
Nevertheless, I am personally incredibly excited for the game, and now new details have been announced.
Previously, it was hinted that the DS version of Animal Crossing could connect with the Wii version, and it has now been shown at E3, that this is in fact true! Through DS connectivity you can upload your town's data to the Wii, and interact with that town. So, anyone like me who owns Animal Crossing: Wild World, better start pulling weeds! XD
Also, it was confirmed that the city area of the game is what will be utilizing WiiConnect24, and where you could debate a sort of "MMO" element is found. In the city is where you'll find all the major shops, theaters, and more!
Animal Crossing: City Folk will be released this holiday season!

Halo 4 on the way?
A representative from Microsoft is now confirming that a brand new Halo game is currently in development by Bungie. Bungie announced the game they are working on is neither Halo Wars or the episodic series by Peter Jackson. This is suggesting Halo will return to its home as a first person shooter, though this is not yet confirmed. Though it will be interesting how this is made, because Bungie now has a much looser leash after their split with Microsoft last year.
And like almost everything else coming out of this E3, all other details are TBA.... *sigh*

Pikmin 3 Confirmed
Earlier this week, Shigeru Miyamoto told IGN that they were working on a new Pikmin game. But now, he has made the announcement even more official. Pikmin is Nintendo's only RTS and is basically a game that involves gathering resources, before the day ends.
What's interesting about the announcement is how it was not confirmed whether the game will release for the DS or the Wii. But as the Wii has seemed to suit game's like this, we can only assume that it will be coming for the Wii, though a DS version is possible, it seems unlikely right now.
Unfortunately, everything else about the game is TBA.

GTA Chinatown Wars Details
A few more tiny details were released about the new GTA game for the Nintendo DS. First off, it will be released in the 4th quarter of this year. Rockstar says they are trying to make a very unique and original game for system. Also, it was confirmed that some sort of online play will be incorporated into the game.

Super Monkey Ball Update
At this year's E3, Sega announced that an update would be coming out to correct all of the control issues found in Super Monkey Ball for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The update will feature a new calibration and sensitivity menu, so you can align controls to your liking. They say this after many reviewers were quite brutal on the game (I was waiting 'till E3 ended to release mine). The update will become available on the iPhone App Store in the near future.

Nintendo Sequels Confirmed
In an interview with IGN, Shigeru Miyamoto reconfirmed the existance of a Zelda game for Wii, by continuously stressing how long they have been working on it.
But it was also confirmed the Pikmin 3 is in development for the Nintendo Wii. He also confirmed a sequel to Super Mario Galaxy, though it unknown whether it is planned to be released this generation.
And lastly, he confirmed a sequel to New Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo DS.
And unfortunately, Nintendo is continuing to shoot down the possibility of a Kid Icarus game, but we might get it if we bug them enough!

Zelda Reconfirmed for Wii
Shortly after Nintendo's Press Conference came to a close, Reggie Fils-Amie reassured gamers, that a new Zelda adventure is still in development for Wii, and if we are to believe previous reports, then we can assume that it has been in the making for about 4 years now. However, as before we still don't know anything else, other than the fact that it does exist.

iPhone 2.0 Firmware Coming Along with App Store Tomorrow!!!!
The iPhone from Apple has been missing a few key features over the
last year. The iPhone 3G coming tomorow to North America (already out
in Europe) will give 3G networking and GPS to the iPhone. Another key
feature is third party applications. Either late today or early
tommorow Apple will release a new firmware update which will be free
for all existing iPhone costumers and $10 for iPod Touch users. The
update will feature bug fixes, enterprise support and an app store to
buy third party applications. So far there are about 500 apps and
over 25% of them like the AIM app or Facebook app are free. So far I
have seen many games each costing at most $10-$12. Games I have seen
are Super Monkey Ball, Bejeweled 2, Bomberman, Ms. Pac-Man, and many
other pong, solitare and other games like that. I have an iPhone and
Matt has an iPod Touch so we will be getting are hands on as many
games as possible during the next few days and we will be posting
reviews. For iPhone costumers using EDGE most of the apps are less
than 10 mb.
