If you thought that Europeans were the slowest to get games, you're sadly mistaken. Nintendo has now just finalized their plans to launch the Nintendo Wii in Korea! It 220,000 yen, which is about $30 less than the current North American price. However, the European version of the console will not be bundled with Wii Sports.
8 titles will be available for purchase on the launch date. These titles are Wii Sports, Wii Play, Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2, Zack & Wiki, FIFA '08, Namco Museum Remix, and Swing Golf Pangya: 2nd Shot.
The Korean Virtual Console will also launch with the console, offering NES, SNES, and N64 games.
The Korean Nintendo Wii will launch on the 26th of April. If you do purchase a Korean Wii, I would highly recommend making an investment in Code Junkies' Wii Freeloader. It's only $20 and it will allow you to play any Wii and Gamecube game released anywhere in the world! Also, upon buying the console, instead of selecting Korea as your native country, select either the United States, United Kingdom, or Japan. This will allow you to purchase games from their Virtual Console library, which is currently over 300 games right now, with more being released every week! By picking Korea as your native country you will only be able to purchase 10 Virtual Console games at launch! I just thought that you'd like to know...
