GamersCast Invited to E3 2008!

UPDATE: Direct Video Link

This is probably one of the happiest moments of my life. As we all know, last year E3 became invitation only, and very few gaming outlets got the honor of going to this huge event.

And now, just today, only a few minutes ago, I got an e-mail from the ESA (they run E3), and I WAS INVITED!

That's right! GamersCast is going to E3 2008!! E3 2008 is taking place in the LA Convention Center from July 15 to July 17th.

And for the first time, I'll have all the news for you while at the showfloor! And I'll be recording the press conferences on my own camera and everything! This has to be one of the happyest moments of my life. And I want to thank each and every one of our podcast listeners and site readers for letting us get this far!
THANK YOU!

Wii Owners and Nintendo Fanboys, Are You Finally Ready To Rock?

If you said yes to that question, I have some great news for you. The award winning game Rock Band from EA, MTV Games, and Harmonix is finally coming to the Wii. The Wii bundle will include the game, a microphone, a drum kit, and a wireless guitar for $169.99. The game will have 63 songs including 5 bonus songs. Stand alone instruments will be available from day one. No word yet if there will be downloadable songs, online play, or whether the Wii Guitar Hero controller will be compatable with the game. Rock Band for the Wii will be released in the U.S and Canada on June 22. If you want to find out more about the game, you can listen to my review. Rock Band is also available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Playstation 2.

Rock Band to Recieve New Patch

Rock Band has been very successful lately. It has sold over six million downloadable songs on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 combined. This week, Rock Band will get a new patch which fixes some issues, lowers the difficulty cap for the band world tour mode, and adds one brand new feature which is the Rock Band music store. In it, you will be able to preview and buy new songs for Rock Band without ever leaving the game. The store will also tell you how difficult the songs are. This will probably boost sales of every song. The patch is out now. The music store was really well done. Also on March 25, expect a Boston pack to hit Rock Band. It will incluse six really good master tracks from the band.

Guitar Hero is Going On Tour

Yes it is finally true.  Guitar Hero is going portable.  Guitar Hero: On Tour exclusively for Nintendo DS will bring the fun, skill, and the same amount of craziness as the console game to a handheld.  How will this be done?  The game will come with a grip that attaches to the GBA slot.  The grip also holds a stylus shaped like a guitar pick.  You hold the DS sidways while playing.  The game will feature new songs, wireless multiplayer, and customizable characters and guitars.  The game will ship this summer.

Downloadable Brawl Stages!

One of the most awesome features in Super Smash Brothers Brawl is the stage builder and Nintendo has announced that soon, one new stage will be playable everyday, with one twist, you can't download them. But fear not! For GamersCast has the answer!

Why be restricted? Well, I have just started a new featured called the Super Smash Brothers Brawl Custom Stage Collection. Here you can download a wide-assortment of Brawl stages and play them on your Wii! Wanna show of your stage to the world? You can upload it to our collection!

But what if you DO want to keep some of the stages that Nintendo features? No problem! The YouTube Page page for the collection will also be archiving gameplay of every single stage Nintendo features starting with the March 12th featured stage. And even these stages will soon be re-made and uploaded for download in the collection! The YouTube Page can be found at:
http://www.YouTube.com/BrawlStages

Unlike other Brawl stage collections, I rate all submitted stages on a scale from 1 to 5, post screenshots, strategies, descriptions, and gameplay videos of each stage!

Check it out at:

I would buy a new SD card if I were you.... *winks*

iPhone SDK Released!!

Well, the iPhgone SDK was just released today. And like we thought, it has been confirmed that games are being developed for both the iPod Touch and the iPhone. Though the SDK is out now, the firmware 2.0 update is coming in June which will allow the SDK support, and will also launch iPhone App Store.

Now, I didn't get the opportunity to watch the entire keynote, yet. But as this is a gaming blog, that's really all that I should be talking about so I don't go off-topic. But yes, we will discuss it in the next GamersCast episode, and if you would like to watch the full keynote, you can go to the following page: (I'll have a local downloadable file that "easier" on your computer, up on this page soon)
