Play it on Wii!

Today Nintendo has just announced a new branch Wii games they're calling, "Play it on Wii". These games are basically pure ports of past generation games that were updated to the Wii's control scheme. It's kind of like how Twilight Princess was released on both the Gamecube and the Wii (other than flipping the map).

Nintendo has just announced 7 Gamecube games are being ported over to the Wii at a budget price. These games are:

-Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat
-Pikmin
- Pikmin 2
- Chibi-Robo
- Mario Power Tennis
- Metroid Prime
- Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

All of these titles should be arriving at some point in 2009. It should also be noted that the branch of games was only confirmed in Japan so far, but there's a good chance that they will make the jump to the Americas as well. It has also been rumored that "Play it on Wii" titles will have 16:9 widescreen support added.
